BBIX and Getworks Add New OCX Connection Site at Miyagi AI Data Center

Expanding Network Connectivity for AI and GPU Infrastructure Across the Tohoku Region

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business and Getworks co.,ltd. (“Getworks”), as part of their collaboration on the cloud-based network service “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange)”, opened a new connection site at the Miyagi AI Data Center in Shichigahama Town, Miyagi Prefecture, on September 1, 2026.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to cloud services and data centers used by customers.

Leveraging its expertise in designing, building, and operating containerized data centers, Getworks is working to develop AI infrastructure powered by GPU servers and deploying regionally distributed data centers. BBIX and Getworks have previously established OCX connection sites in Yuzawa Town (Niigata Prefecture) and Izumi City (Kagoshima Prefecture), continuously expanding network environments that connect cloud services with data centers nationwide.

The Miyagi AI Data Center, serving as the newest OCX connection site, is a containerized data center built to accommodate next-generation, high-performance GPU servers. By establishing a connection site at this facility, BBIX and Getworks will deliver a robust network environment that enables seamless connectivity from AI and GPU infrastructure in the Tohoku region to various external cloud platforms and major data centers.

BBIX, BBSakura, and Getworks remain committed to deploying innovative infrastructure environments that combine containerized data centers with OCX. Interconnecting decentralized data centers via OCX will aim to build flexible IT architectures that seamlessly integrate cloud and on-premises systems. Ultimately, this initiative will support enterprises and municipalities in leveraging AI, accelerating digital transformation (DX), and enhancing business continuity planning (BCP).
