BBIX and BBSakura Add Google Cloud as a Connection Destination for OCX’s XaaS Connection

Enabling secure connectivity to Google Cloud services, including Google Workspace

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, will add “Google Cloud,” provided by Google LLC, as a new connection destination for “XaaS Connection” within the cloud-based network service “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange)” on August 6, 2026.

Google Cloud is Google’s cloud service platform designed to support the core IT infrastructure of enterprises and local governments. Within this ecosystem, Google Workspace—which includes key tools such as Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Workspace with Gemini—facilitates seamless information sharing, collaboration, and the adoption of generative AI, thereby driving operational efficiency and boosting productivity. In recent years, the adoption of SaaS (Software as a Service) and cloud solutions has rapidly expanded among businesses and the public sector alike, driven by ongoing digital transformation (DX) initiatives. However, as organizations increasingly handle critical operations and highly confidential data in the cloud, ensuring the security and stability of their network pathways has become a pressing challenge. Furthermore, because Google Cloud is typically accessed over the Internet, some enterprises face concerns regarding online security and connection quality, while certain local governments operate under strict limitations that restrict cloud access from within their secure LGWAN (Local Government Wide Area Network) environments.

XaaS Connection is a service that enables direct connections from the closed, private network of OCX to various XaaS (X as a Service) platforms without traversing the Internet. Through this latest integration, users can now establish a direct connection to Google Cloud via OCX’s high-quality closed network. Furthermore, by utilizing local breakout capabilities, both local government and corporate intranet environments can connect to Google Workspace in a secure and highly stable communication environment. When using Google Workspace, customers can also access Google Workspace with Gemini through this same secure connection, supporting the safe and reliable adoption of generative AI in their operations.
