BBIX and BBSakura Launch “NCV Connection” on “OCX”

Enhancing Cloud Connectivity and Regional Network Access across Yonezawa, Fukushima, Hakodate, and Niigata

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a SoftBank Corp. subsidiary and leading Internet Exchange (IX) provider, together with its network solutions subsidiary BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), today announced the launch of “NCV Connection” on their cloud-based network service, “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange)”, effective October 6, 2026.

NCV Connection interconnects OCX directly with access line services provided by New Media Co., Ltd. (“New Media”). Previously, connecting to OCX via New Media’s access lines required enterprise customers to individually arrange cross-connections within data centers.

With the launch of this service, enterprise customers in the Yonezawa City (Yamagata), Fukushima City (Fukushima), Hakodate City (Hokkaido), and Niigata City (Niigata) regions will be able to connect to OCX via New Media’s high-quality cable TV access lines—built and operated in-house—enabling seamless, secure closed-network connections to major cloud providers and XaaS platforms.

By eliminating the need for custom data center cabling, the service significantly reduces deployment lead times and operational overhead. Additionally, the offering introduces flexible bandwidth options below 1 Gbps, allowing organizations to tailor their network capacity to specific traffic demands and operational requirements.
