BBIX and CNA sign business partnership with Open Connectivity eXchange
～BBIX to expand OCX footprint to “CNA Data Center”～
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with Cable Networks Akita Co.,Ltd.,(“CNA”), on Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service. With this partnership arrangement, BBIX will add the OCX connecting point in “CNA Data Center” in September 2023.
OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, and is provided on BBIX’s IX platform. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.
CNA has been taking on various challenges to solve the problems of the local residents of Akita catching up with the requirements of customers, and it celebrated its 25th anniversary in December 2022. CNA’s strength is its diversified business development, with its cable TV business, Internet business, and advanced telecommunications business using Local 5G and radio technologies. CNA also provides services to local governments and enterprise customers in the Akita City area using its own fiber optic network.
By combining BBIX and BBSakura’s secure and high-quality OCX with CNA’s community-based diversified and advanced telecommunication services, BBIX will promote the DX (“Digital Transformation”) of local governments, create new business, and promote DX of local enterprises.
BBIX and BBSakura, together with CNA, will work to expand its services to help customers accelerate DX and grow their existing businesses, thereby contributing to the realization of a prosperous society where people can experience the joy of being connected.
