BBIX and ICC Launch New Cloud Infrastructure Service, OCF at Facility

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and Ishikawa Computer Center Co., Ltd. (“ICC”) opened an “OCF (OCX Compute Fabric)” connection point within the “Hakusan Data Center” operated by ICC, in June 2026, and began offering OCF at this facility.

OCF is a regionally distributed cloud service provided jointly by BBIX and IDC Frontier Inc. By utilizing “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange),” a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and its subsidiary BBSakura Networks, Inc., OCF distributes and deploys cloud infrastructure across data centers in various regions.

By adding OCF to its Hakusan Data Center—which leverages the distinct strengths of its existing OCX connection points, ISP business, and regional data centers—ICC has further enhanced its network and cloud infrastructure. This integration enables the architecture of highly available and scalable hybrid configurations, seamlessly connecting with on-premises environments and colocation services. Built upon a highly stable and expandable foundation, it delivers a secure, premium cloud environment capable of centrally managing virtual servers, storage, networks, and security.

Furthermore, the ability to manage everything from the network to the cloud as a unified system accelerates fault isolation and recovery operations during disruptions. Additionally, an architecture engineered with careful consideration for bandwidth, latency, and routing ensures a consistently stable communication environment. Even for mission-critical systems where cloud migration is hindered by stringent security requirements or licensing constraints, this infrastructure achieves seamless integration with cloud-based systems while maintaining robust, uncompromised security levels.
