BBIX, Inc.
The system was highly recognized for integrating cloud infrastructure distributed across nationwide partner locations with the OCX closed connectivity network to support the delivery of regional VM services.
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”) and IDC Frontier Inc.’s jointly provided geographically distributed cloud platform, “OCF (OCX Compute Fabric),” was the sole recipient of the Special Judges’ Prize in the Enterprise & Cloud (Cloud Service) Category of the “Best of Show Award” at the Interop Tokyo 2026 internet technology event, which was announced on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
“Interop Tokyo 2026” is an internet technology event scheduled to be held at Makuhari Messe from Wednesday, June 10, to Friday, June 12, 2026. The “Best of Show Award” is an accolade that determines the “Product of the Year” by having a judging committee—composed of key figures from leading media organizations and academic experts—review new products and services entered by participating exhibitors.
Among BBIX’s OCX-related services, “OCX Mobile Access” won the Grand Prize in the Mobile Computing (5G/6G) category at the “Interop Tokyo 2025” Best of Show Awards. Following that milestone, this latest award for OCF marks the second consecutive year that BBIX has received the prestigious Prize.
Launched in February 2026, “OCF” distributes cloud infrastructure across various OCF partner locations and connects them to the closed network of “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange),” a cloud-based network service. This integration enables a low-latency and secure multi-region environment for users.
The company was recognized for establishing a system that integrates a cloud infrastructure distributed across OCF partner locations nationwide with the OCF private network, enabling it to resell low-cost VM services under its own brand. In addition to catering to a wide range of users seeking distributed cloud deployments and private network connections, the company was also commended for addressing the needs of cloud service providers who have found it difficult to continue offering VM services due to market changes, leading to the Best of Show Special Prize.
As enterprises increasingly adopt cloud technologies, the requirements for IT infrastructure are diversifying to include distributed system locations, Disaster Recovery (DR) environments, secure inter-company connectivity, and flexible utilization of cloud resources. By combining regionally distributed cloud infrastructure with the secure, closed network of OCX, OCF addresses these challenges and supports the advancement of corporate cloud and network infrastructures.
As a technical representative, I am extremely delighted that our new service, “OCF (OCX Compute Fabric),” has received the Special Prize.
This service decentralizes cloud infrastructure as edge nodes across OCF partner locations nationwide. By connecting these nodes to the OCX private network, we have realized a highly secure, low-latency multi-region environment. The development of OCF was driven directly by the needs of our existing OCX users, who expressed a strong desire to utilize their network and cloud infrastructure as a single, integrated solution.
Bringing this service to market was a highly challenging project for our engineering team, as we were tasked with transforming the architecture from a mere concept into a fully operational service environment in just about one year.To achieve this, we combined IDC Frontier’s deep expertise in cloud infrastructure with BBIX’s extensive know-how in network service design and development, allowing us to launch the service in a remarkably short timeframe.
Moving forward, we will continue to collaborate closely with our OCF partners to expand features and enhance value, ensuring this service solidly supports corporate cloud utilization, regional decentralization, and secure network connectivity.

During “Interop Tokyo 2026,” BBIX’s booth (Booth Number: 5P06) will host demonstrations of the OCF Console and OCF Account Portal. Visitors can experience OCF’s simple UI operations, including creating and launching virtual machines, configuring network settings, and checking usage and billing information. Furthermore, through use cases for system construction and operation using OCF, visitors can visualize how to realize regionally distributed systems and secure inter-company connections.
Going forward, BBIX will continue to expand its services through OCF to support corporate cloud utilization, regional distribution, and secure network connectivity.
“OCF (OCX Compute Fabric)” is a regional distributed cloud platform provided by BBIX and IDC Frontier Inc. It utilizes OCX connection points deployed nationwide to distribute cloud infrastructure across data centers in various regions, enabling flexible use of the cloud environment. The booth will feature demonstrations of the OCF Console and OCF Account Portal, where visitors can experience simple UI operations such as creating/ launching virtual machines, configuring network settings, and checking usage and billing information.
“OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange)” is a cloud-based network service that securely and flexibly connects clouds, data centers, mobile environments, and more. At the booth, use cases of OCX as a network foundation supporting the increasing volume of large-capacity data communication—which is growing with the expansion of AI model training/inference and cloud adoption—will be introduced.
At the BBIX booth, we are showcasing OCX’s various services under the theme “Designing Every ‘Connection’—The Future of Co-Creation Business Pioneered by NaaS.” In addition to highlighting the features of our services, we are also conducting demonstrations to help visitors visualize real-world use cases.
