BBIX Receives Google “Verified Peering Provider” Gold Verification for Outstanding Connection Quality
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, announced that on July 15, 2025, it received Gold Verification—the highest level of recognition—in Google Cloud’s “Verified Peering Provider (VPP)” program for outstanding connection quality.
By leveraging the advanced traffic exchange and management technologies cultivated through years of IX operations and its deep expertise in operating a robust network infrastructure, BBIX successfully met Google’s stringent verification criteria for Gold Verification. These requirements include physically diverse and redundant connections, as well as high-capacity bandwidth. As a result, BBIX was awarded the highest-level of verification in the VPP program.
This Gold-level recognition officially recognizes that BBIX’s enterprise Internet services—such as “OCX Hikari Internet,” a fiber-based Internet service, and the “Internet Connection” and “Internet Gateway” offerings delivered through its cloud-based networking platform, “Open Connectivity eXchange (OCX)”—provide highly reliable access to Google services. Customers can enjoy smooth and secure connectivity to platforms like Google Cloud™ and Google Workspace™ via officially recognized high-quality network routes.
Furthermore, to help improve network quality for Internet service providers across Japan, BBIX will launch a new optional service, the “IX Peering Plus Service,” starting August 2025. This service enables customers using BBIX’s IX services to directly exchange traffic with Google.
