BBIX Partners with HTNet to Provide OCX Cloud-based Network Service
BBIX to add OCX connection point at “HTNet Kanazawa Nishi Center”
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (“IX”) business, entered into a business partnership agreement with Hokuriku Telecommunication Network Co.,Inc. (“HTNet”) to provide Open Connectivity eXchange (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service. With this partnership agreement, BBIX will add an OCX connection point at HTNet’s “HTNet Kanazawa Nishi Center” (Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture) on June 1, 2025.
HTNet will provide network services utilizing OCX in cooperation with the data center business partner, eNet Solutions Co., Ltd.
OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (“BBSakura”), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.
Established in 1993, HTNet provides high-quality, highly reliable corporate communications services based on its fiber-optic network covering the entire Hokuriku region. In order to flexibly meet the diversifying needs of the customers, HTNet provides total solution services that include not only networks, but also cloud computing, security, and system integration (SI). Furthermore, in January 2025, HTNet was certified as a “DX (Digital Transformation) Certified Business Operator” under the “DX Certification System” established by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in recognition of its efforts to accelerate the transformation of business models through the use of digital technology.
By combining HTNet’s network services with the high-quality, secure OCX provided by BBIX and BBSakura, HTNet will develop a platform that makes cloud computing and nationwide data centers more accessible to support DX in the Hokuriku region, and strive to contribute to customers’ sustainable growth through IT infrastructure operations.
