BBIX to Launch New IX Point “BBIX Singapore No.3” at Global Switch’s Tai Seng Data Center

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet Exchange (IX) business, will launch a new IX point, “BBIX Singapore No.3” at Global Switch’s Singapore Tai Seng data center (“Global Switch Singapore Tai Seng”), and provide “Smart IX” service* starting from November 2022.

Singapore serves as a key interconnection hub in Asia, as extensive submarine cable networks as well as an abundance of data centers are situated there. Many key Internet businesses such as content providers and Internet service providers (ISPs) gather from all over the world to exchange Internet traffic in Singapore.

In addition to the existing sites, “BBIX Singapore No.1” at Equinix SG1 data center and “BBIX Singapore No.2” at Equinix SG5 data center, BBIX will expand its 3rd IX point in Global Switch Singapore Tai Seng, which is located in an area where major popular network data centers in Southeast Asia are concentrated. Multiple submarine cable network terminal equipment are accommodated and leading global and local Internet players are connected at this data center.

At the new “BBIX Singapore No.3” site, by using “Smart IX” services, users will be able to connect and exchange traffic with other users at “BBIX Singapore No.3” site, as well as users at other BBIX operated global IX points.

Through the launch of “BBIX Singapore No.3,” BBIX will continue to provide premium interconnectivity quality with more cost saving for customers.
