BBIX to Launch Smart IX Service at “BBIX LA No. 2” within Equinix LA1
BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”) will launch a new IX point, “BBIX LA No. 2,” at Equinix LA1 data centre and provide its Smart IX service* starting from September 8, 2026. In addition, BBIX will change the name of “BBIX LA,” which was opened at Coresite LA1 in January 2020, to “BBIX LA No. 1 Center.”
In recent years, with the expansion of AI (artificial intelligence), cloud services, video streaming, and online gaming, there has been a growing demand for the distribution of connection points that maintain redundancy while maintaining low-latency, high-bandwidth interconnection environments.
In light of these circumstances, in addition to “BBIX LA No. 1,” BBIX has opened “BBIX LA No. 2” at Equinix LA1 data centre, which has one of the largest number of operators in the region, as its second connection hub in the Los Angeles area. This will expand the interconnection environment and provide optimal connectivity as a distributed hub within the area.
