BBIX and HTNet add “HTNet Kanazawa Center” as a Connection Site for “OCF (OCX Compute Fabric)”

Launch of New Regional Cloud Service “HTNet Cloud powered by OCF”

BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, opened an “OCF (OCX Compute Fabric)” connection site on October 1, 2026, within the HTNet Kanazawa Center operated by Hokuriku Telecommunication Network Co., Inc. (“HTNet”). HTNet will build on this foundation to launch “HTNet Cloud powered by OCF” starting November 1, 2026.

OCF is a regionally distributed cloud service provided by BBIX and IDC Frontier Inc. The two companies leverage “OCX (Open Connectivity eXchange),” a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and its subsidiary BBSakura Networks, Inc., ―to seamlessly deploy decentralized cloud infrastructure across regional data centers, enabling secure and low-latency cloud connectivity in close proximity to customers.

As cloud adoption rapidly grows among businesses and local governments, the concentration of major cloud regions in major metropolitan centers poses ongoing challenges—such as higher latency and complex network architecture—for organizations in Hokuriku. Furthermore, escalating server costs and extended procurement cycles have made updating and maintaining IT infrastructure a growing burden. To address these challenges, OCF has established its Kanazawa Region, delivering a secure, highly stable cloud environment in close physical proximity to our Hokuriku customers.

HTNet operates its own extensive fiber-optic network covering the entire Hokuriku region. “HTNet Cloud powered by OCF” combines HTNet’s strong local customer touch points with BBIX’s highly stable and scalable OCF platform. The service provides a secure server infrastructure serving as a secure environment for systems and data, allowing enterprises and local governments to establish direct, secure connections. As a locally grounded cloud infrastructure, HTNet Cloud offers comprehensive, end-to-end support across network, cloud, and security environments.

BBIX and HTNet will continue to provide regional cloud infrastructure throughout Hokuriku. By expanding partnerships locally and across other regions, both companies aim to broaden cloud options and support the sustainable growth of their customers’ IT and business operations.
