BBIX Supports “OCX Compute Fabric” at “HISS FIT-iDC Toyama Data Center (PIT)”
Newly launched “FIT-Cloud Assist for OCF” provides a nearby, low-latency and secure cloud environment in the Hokuriku region
BBIX, Inc., a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and Hokuden Information System Service Company, Inc. (HISS) opened an “OCX Compute Fabric” (“OCF”) connection point within the “HISS FIT-iDC Toyama Data Center (PIT)” operated by HISS, on May 12, 2026, and began offering “FIT-Cloud Assist for OCF,” a cloud implementation support service based at this facility.
OCF is a regional distributed cloud service provided by BBIX and IDC Frontier Inc. that leverages “Open Connectivity eXchange” (“OCX”), a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and its subsidiary BBSakura Networks, Inc., to distribute cloud infrastructure across regional data centers located near local governments and regional businesses. By capitalizing on the proximity of these locations, the service optimizes private line costs and addresses data sovereignty requirements.
“FIT-Cloud Assist for OCF,” a service offered by HISS, is a cloud implementation support service that provides comprehensive assistance—from proposal and design to construction and migration—for multi-cloud environments based on OCF.
While demand for cloud services is growing among businesses and local governments, determining the appropriate configuration to meet specific system requirements remains a challenge. This service leverages cloud environments located near the Hokuriku region to propose optimal configurations tailored to customer needs, providing end-to-end support—from planning to migration—to ensure a smooth transition to the cloud.
Going forward, BBIX and HISS will not only provide cloud infrastructure leveraging OCF, but also further strengthen integration with various services—including networking, security, and operations and maintenance—to help local businesses and municipal governments advance digital transformation and enhance business continuity.
