BBIX, Inc.
~Supporting connection to Microsoft cloud services to enterprise customers~
Tokyo, August 7th, 2020 – BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet Exchange (IX) business, today announced that from August 7th, 2020, it will offer BBIX for Microsoft Azure Peering Service, which is compatible with the Azure Peering Service.
Azure Peering Service is a new network service that can be used as if you are connected using a closed connection via the public Internet when accessing Microsoft cloud services, such as Microsoft 365 and other SaaS (Software as a Service) services running on the Microsoft Cloud. Until now, Microsoft has provided Azure ExpressRoute to a limited number of customers as a closed connection service to Microsoft 365 and other SaaS services, but Azure Peering Service is now available to all companies regardless of business type and type of industry.
While the demand for cloud services is increasing with more people working from home, the use of cloud services, which are premised on communication via the Internet, is subject to network congestion and the impact of security risks on the Internet.
By providing BBIX for Microsoft Azure Peering Service, BBIX realizes the use of cloud services in a highly reliable and stable Internet connection environment while addressing the above-mentioned customer issues and contributing to the promotion of work style reforms for customers.
• Michikazu Fukuchi, Executive Vice President, Board Director and COO of BBIX, Inc.
“We are excited to be able to provide connectivity to the Azure Peering Service on the BBIX platform. Currently, many office operations are performed remotely, and the demand for secure and reliable access to cloud services is increasing. Through our work with Microsoft, we are very pleased to be able to work together to solve the digital shift challenges that are facing companies and society.”
• Yves Pitsch, Principal Program Manager, Microsoft Corp.
“Microsoft welcomes BBIX’s participation as a partner for Azure Peering Service. The new Azure Peering Service will optimize latency and maximize the performance for enterprises that connect to Microsoft’s services, supporting customers with a variety of work styles and locations.”
