BBIX Singapore Launches “Open Connectivity eXchange” Connection Points
and Virtual Router Functionality at Singapore Location

BBIX Singapore Pte. Ltd. (“BBIX Singapore”), a subsidiary of BBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), is expanding the service area of “Open Connectivity eXchange” (“OCX”), which BBIX jointly develops with BBSakura Networks, Inc. effective today. BBIX Singapore has opened two new OCX connection points in Singapore –Equinix SG1 and Global Switch Singapore Tai Seng– and has concurrently launched the virtual router appliance “OCX-Router(v1)”.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided on IX platform. It provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, and scalable connectivity to various cloud services and data centers used by customers. With the launch of OCX connection points in Singapore, international Data Center Interconnect (DCI) between Japan and Singapore (JP–SG) and between Singapore and Thailand (SG–TH) is now available with rapid deployment and at low cost. This provides new value to global enterprises and customers operating internationally by enabling easier cross-border data coordination and system operation.

“OCX-Router(v1)” is a virtual router functionality that provides IP routing on the OCX network, allowing customers to exchange traffic between clouds or regions without passing through on-premise facilities. By offering this function at the Singapore location, BBIX Singapore enables low-latency network configurations across the Southeast Asian region. Furthermore, it flexibly supports multi-site network configurations that consider redundancy and availability by placing virtual routers in both Japan and Singapore, making it easier to integrate cross-border cloud environments.

These enhancements not only allow the flexible construction of multi-cloud environments entirely within Singapore but also optimize communication paths between locations and clouds, achieving a simple yet highly scalable network design that improves redundancy and operational efficiency.
