We handle personal information related to the provision of various services we offer as our telecommunications services and other business operations in accordance with this “Handling of Personal Information” document


1.Purposes of Use of Personal Information

We use the personal information of our customers that we have acquired for the purposes of providing telecommunications services and other services operated by our company, advertising, publicity, marketing, improving and researching our services, responding appropriately to inquiries, and preventing and responding to fraudulent activities. The detailed purposes of using personal information are set forth below and include related purposes.


(1) Provision of Telecommunications Services and Other Services Operated by Our Company
– To provide the functionality of our company’s system and the target services related to transactions
– To perform billing calculations and issue invoices related to transactions
– To conduct shipment of equipment necessary for our business operations
– To perform support services such as construction, maintenance, and – troubleshooting related to our business operations
– To perform business operations necessary for cooperation with Internet Service Provider partner companies and mutual interconnection with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (NTT East) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West)
– For other business operations necessary for providing our business and related services

(2) Advertising, Publicity, and Marketing
Based on the customer’s consent or within the range and means permitted by law, to send or display advertisements for our company or other companies’ products or services, campaigns, seminars, etc. via such as direct mail and email magazines to customers.

(3) Improvement of Services and Research and Development
– For research and development by our company related to improving existing services and developing new services
– For creating statistical data for management analysis and using analysis results
– For consideration and information provision to contribute to the development of the information and communication industry and improvement of customer service

(4) Advertising, Publicity, and Marketing
For appropriately responding to inquiries, providing information and handling complaints related to services or advertisements, and providing guidance on various procedures from customers.

(5) Prevention and response to fraudulent activities:
– Prevention of fraudulent activities related to our business (such as fraudulent contracts, unauthorized use, and non-payment) and investigation and response in case of occurrence.
– Prevention, investigation, and identification of fraud, cyber attacks, and other illegal or potentially fraudulent activities (to protect the rights and interests of our company or third parties).

We may use the business card information exchanged with our customers and business partners for the purposes stated in (1) to (5) above. Even after the contract regarding our business with the customer has ended, we may use the personal information within the scope of the above purposes. If we intend to use such personal information for purposes other than those stated above, we will clarify the purpose of use and obtain the customer’s prior consent.

2.Joint use

We may share personal data with others for joint use under the following circumstances.


a. Companies who jointly use personal data with us:
– SoftBank Corporation
– BBSakura Networks Corporation

b. Personal information subject to joint use:
Name, email address, basic information about the company (address, phone number, fax number, etc.), and all personal data obtained in services operated by our company.

c. Purpose of joint use:
Marketing research and analysis, as well as the purposes described in “1. Purposes of Use of Personal Information” above.

d. Manager responsible for protecting and managing jointly used personal information:
Our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).

3.Third-Party Provision

Our company may provide personal information to partner companies in the following manner.

In accordance with the provisions of the contractual terms and conditions between the ISP partner and NTT East and NTT West, as well as for the smooth provision of telecommunications services and the necessary coordination and interconnection with these operators for the performance of such tasks, there may be cases where personal information such as name, address, telephone number, email address, usage history, and other information necessary for the provision of telecommunications services may be provided to these operators.


4.Handling of information processed to prevent personal identification

We may use or provide personal information to third parties after processing it into non-personally identifiable data.


5.Information related to the secrecy of communications.

We handle information related to the secrecy of communication, such as communication history, call history, and caller information, in accordance with the Telecommunications Business Act Article 4 and other related provisions and guidelines.


6.Measures taken for safety management

Our company takes the following measures to ensure the security management of personal data


(1) Establishment of Basic Policies
To ensure the appropriate handling of personal data, we have established “Guidelines for Protecting Personal Information” and “Information Security Policy” as basic policies. We will continuously review and improve these basic policies as well as the activities listed below.

(2) Establishment of Regulations for Handling Personal Data
Based on the basic policies, we have established internal regulations that clearly outline the methods for acquiring, using, processing, storing, providing, deleting, correcting, and managing personal data, as well as the management system, and have thoroughly disseminated them throughout the company.

(3) Organizational Security Management Measures
We have clearly defined the responsible parties, roles, responsibilities, and authorities for handling personal data. We also conduct ongoing and planned reviews, management and supervision, as well as internal and external audits on the handling of personal data.

(4) Human Security Management Measures
We have created educational materials regarding personal information protection and distribute them to all employees. We also conduct training for all employees who handle personal data at least once a year. When entering into business outsourcing contracts, we thoroughly examine the eligibility of the outsourcing party and conclude a contract that specifies the necessary conditions to ensure the same level of security management system as our company. We also strive for appropriate supervision through monitoring of the outsourcing party, reviewing the outsourcing arrangements, and strengthening contracts.

(5) Physical and Technical Security Management Measures
We have implemented necessary and appropriate measures to manage and limit access to personal data, control the methods for taking out personal data, prevent unauthorized access from external sources, and ensure other necessary measures for the security management of personal data.

(6) Understanding of External Environment
When using, storing, or providing personal data outside Japan, we understand the protection systems for personal information in the relevant foreign country and disclose or provide information in an appropriate manner.

7.Disclosure, Correction, and Suspension of Use of Held Personal Data

If an individual requests notification of the purpose of use of held personal data, or requests disclosure, correction (including correction, notification or deletion), suspension of use (including suspension of use or deletion), or suspension of third-party provision of their held personal data, we will respond at the contact below.

Transitional Provisions

This “Handling of Personal Information” will be enforced from July 21, 2011.
This revision will be applied from June 1, 2012.
This revision will be applied from October 1, 2022.
This revision will be applied from July 1, 2024.
