BBIX and KCCS Sign Business Partnership for Cloud-based Network Service OCX<\/h4>\r\n

BBIX to add OCX connection point at 100% Renewable Energy Zero Emission Data Center ZED ISHIKARI<\/p>\r\n

\r\n

BBIX, Inc. (\u201cBBIX\u201d) signed a business partnership agreement with KYOCERA Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (\u201cKCCS\u201d) to provide a cloud-based network service Open Connectivity eXchange (\u201cOCX\u201d). With this partnership agreement, BBIX will add an OCX connection point at KCCS\u2019s Zero Emission Data Center ISHIKARI (\u201cZED ISHIKARI\u201d) on January 1, 2025.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (\u201cBBSakura\u201d). OCX offers on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services for a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

KCCS opened ZED ISHIKARI on October 1, 2024 in Ishikari City, Hokkaido, where renewable energy is abundant. ZED ISHIKARI uses a combination of energy sources from the Ishikari Bay Shinko Offshore Wind Farm and a newly built solar power plant owned by the company near the data center, to operate the data center on “raw green electricity.” By matching these renewable energy sources on an hourly basis, KCCS is the first data center in Japan*1<\/sup> to achieve 100% renewable energy (24\/7 carbon-free power*2<\/sup>) and promote local production for the local consumption of electricity. In addition, KCCS continues its efforts to circulate energy within the building by using cool outside air for air conditioning and exhaust heat from the server room for under-floor air conditioning and road heating.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

Recently, demand for digital infrastructure such as data centers has been increasing due to the spread of generative AI, and from the perspective of cost and power security, it is important to process information at a data center near the power infrastructure and transmit the results to the demand area of demand via a communication network.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

The combination of ZED ISHIKARI, which is operated by KCCS on 100% renewable energy, with the high-quality, secure OCX provided by BBIX and BBSakura will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by promoting local production for the local consumption of electricity and the decentralization of digital infrastructure to address decarbonization and the achievement of the SDGs, thus, BBIX, BBSakura, and KCCS will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society.<\/p>\r\n
