BBIX and NCV sign business partnership with Open Connectivity eXchange<\/h4>\r\n

BBIX, Inc. (\u201cBBIX\u201d), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, has entered into a business partnership agreement with NEWMEDIA Corp. (\u201cNCV\u201d) on Open Connectivity eXchange (\u201cOCX\u201d), a cloud-based network service. This is the first time for BBIX to sign a partnership agreement with a cable TV operator. With this partnership arrangement, BBIX will add the OCX connecting point in NCV’s Fukushima Center (Fukushima City), Niigata Center (Niigata City), and Hakodate Center (Hakodate City, Hokkaido) by the end of fiscal 2023.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (\u201cBBSakura\u201d), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, and is provided on BBIX\u2019s IX platform. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

NCV has been taking on various challenges to enrich the lives of local residents as a “media based on the local community.\u201d Amid a rapidly changing environment, NCV will continue proactively to develop new technologies, such as high-speed Internet access utilizing a large-capacity backbone and community broadcasting that delivers local information, so that daily services can be used comfortably. <\/p>\r\n

By combining BBIX and BBSakura’s secure and high-quality OCX with the diversified telecommunication services of NCV, a comprehensive information service company committed to the local community, BBIX will promote the digital transformation (DX) of local governments in the Tohoku, Hokkaido and Shinetsu regions, create new business domains, and promote DX for local companies.<\/p>\r\n
