BBIX and BBSakura Launch \u201cOCX Hikari Internet\u201d<\/h4>\r\n

BBIX, Inc. (\u201cBBIX\u201d), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that operates an Internet Exchange (IX) business, and BBSakura Networks, Inc. (\u201cBBSakura\u201d), a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX, will launch a new service, \u201cOCX Hikari Internet,\u201d an Internet access service with a maximum transmission speed of 10Gbps* for enterprise customers on February 6, 2023.<\/p>\r\n
\r\n

\u201cOCX Hikari Internet\u201d is an Internet access service provided on the Hikari Collaboration scheme provided by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (\u201cNTT East\u201d) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (\u201cNTT West\u201d).<\/p>\r\n
\r\n*10Gbps is the maximum speed based on technical standards. The actual throughput varies greatly depending on the performance of computers, other devices, network equipment, other usage environments, and network congestion.<\/small>\r\n

\u25a0Service Features<\/h4>\r\n

1.One of Japan’s largest backbone networks<\/h4>\r\n

As a VNE (Virtual Network Enabler) for NTT East and NTT West, BBIX has a Japan-leading VNE connection capacity. Customers can access the Internet through \u201cOCX Hikari Internet\u201d comfortably without the stress of facing delays and slow response times, which typically occurs when large amounts of Internet traffic are generated at the same time. BBIX will continue its activities to expand the backbone to reserve enough margin capacity when the number of customers and Internet traffic increases.<\/p>\r\n

2.Avoid congestion at any time of the day by providing IPv6 IPoE<\/h4>\r\n

Telework is becoming more common and Internet traffic continues to increase. While some Internet access services are affected by congestion during the daytime as well as at nighttime. \u201cOCX Hikari Internet\u201d provides IPv6 IPoE (IP over Ethernet) service as default and provides a service that allows customers to access the Internet comfortably at any time of the day, without such congestion. As major video streaming sites and other contents are increasingly supporting IPv6 IPoE, IPv6 IPoE services are expected to become more important in the future.<\/p>\r\n
