\r\nBBIX, Inc. (“BBIX”), a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp. that conducts an Internet eXchange (IX) business, will open “BBIX Fukuoka Center” (“Fukuoka Center”) in “QTnet Fukuoka No.3 Data Center” (Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture) of QTnet, Inc. (“QTnet”) to provide \u201cIX Connect Service\u201d from October 2020.\r\n<\/p>\r\n

\r\nIn addition to the continued rise of Internet usage in recent years, Internet traffic is seeing additional increases due to changes in social behavior patterns, such as working from home and remote classes. Increased traffic demand from content providers based in the Tokyo metropolitan and Kansai areas is becoming particularly apparent; and addressing this demand is a major issue for local Internet operators.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
\r\n
\r\nFukuoka Center will be installed in Fukuoka City, a key urban center in the Kyushu region that has a comparatively low disaster risk and is highly convenient, making it easy for content providers and Internet connection operators in the Kyushu region to not only enjoy stable BBIX service with ease, but meet demand above traffic volumes while realizing low latency and high quality internet connections.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
\r\n
\r\nBBIX will spread Internet infrastructure concentrated in major urban centers such as Tokyo and Osaka to regional cities and contribute to the provision of efficient and stable Internet communication in each region through the IX services provided by Fukuoka Center.\r\n<\/p>\r\n
